Charleston was recently voted the #1 City in the U.S. by readers of Condé Nast Traveler and Travel+Leisure magazines. Likewise, Charleston School of Law is consistently ranked by The Princeton Review among the top 5 law schools in America for best quality of life. Our shared communities cultivate a friendliness and southern hospitality that you cannot find anywhere else. You will thrive in our collegial atmosphere where students, faculty and staff treat each other with mutual respect and consideration.
Charleston has been named, continuously, as one of the not only top cities in the country, but top cities in the world. And having the law school located downtown in the historic Charleston, South Carolina, is a wonderful thing for all of us. We really think the city reflects our institution. And this institution, this law school, reflects the city.
I couldn't see myself anywhere else. It's just all of it-- the hospitality, the southern charm, the food. But the law school, in and of itself, hones all that in as well. And so having that sense of community was very important to me.
Not only is the city itself an incredibly beautiful place, the people are wonderful and nothing beats the school itself. You have to understand that not only the students that attend, but the faculty and the administration that runs the school, we're a family. It may sound cliche, but it's something that you can't buy.
Where I went to law school, when you got through studying, there wasn't anything to do. Here in Charleston, you go crazy with all the things that are here to do. And the education you get outside of law school is amazing.
Honestly, when I was here, I didn't drive my car much. I walked to school. I walked to my house. I walked everywhere. Enjoyed the beautiful weather. Enjoyed the beautiful people. And it was just a really great time. I feel really blessed and really honored that I got to spend those years here in the city at this law school.
Where we are located, actually in Charleston, has been one of the fastest growing parts of Charleston. Main Street in this area has so many different restaurants, and bars, and things to do. But I think the people are what I like the most about Charleston. The people here are just really nice, really friendly, and helpful. And I think you can feel that in the whole city, as well as in the school.
It was a great experience. I had a lot of fun, a lot of good memories. There's not much I can personally say about Charleston that the accolades that it wins every single year don't say for it.
Charleston is the perfect place to go to law school. It offers something for everybody, whether it's the beach life that you're interested, or the city life. Of course, there's history here in Charleston. I absolutely love being able to spend my weekends on the beach and then come back and enjoy great food at one of our incredible restaurants.
